Bartlett Baptist Preschool and Kindergarten believes the safety and well-being of each child is central to his or her health and happiness. The staff of Bartlett Baptist Preschool is dedicated to providing a secure environment for your child. To do so, we have taken a number of safety measures:
Door Locks
- Our preschool and kindergarten building is locked from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. and from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. If you need admission to the school during this time, please ring the doorbell at the entrance of our building.
Password
- Each child's family will give us a personal password to be used when someone other than the designated person is picking up the child. If you have to send someone in your place to pick up your child, they must be able to tell us the password. We will not release the child without this procedure.
Emergency Preparedness
- We will participate in monthly drills so that the children will know exactly what to do in case of fire, bad weather, or earthquake. A weather alert radio is in the office to notify us of inclement weather. Our fire alarm system is connected with the Bartlett Fire Department so they are notified automatically when the alarm is pulled.
Emergency Care
- Each teacher is regularly retrained in either CPR or first aid so there is always a teacher on duty who is qualified in those areas. A well-equipped first aid kit is easily available to the staff. Parental permission and doctor/hospital information are given to us so we can make a 911 call if an emergency arises with your child. If 911 assistance is needed, the parent will be contacted when the emergency call is placed.
Snow or Ice Closings
- We follow the Shelby County school system weather closings. If they close, we close. You can check the status of Shelby County school closings on local television or radio stations.
Evacuations
- If we should be asked to evacuate due to some emergency, we will use Bartlett Baptist Church vehicles to transport children to New Hope Presbyterian Church on Kirby-Whitten.
